So What's Hot About Canada?

America's friendly neighbor to the North is also one of its biggest trading partners. With its large and stable economy, and the easy access across our shared border and coastlines, it's little wonder that Canada is one of the first places businesses look in expanding beyond the American marketplace.

In 2003, two-way trade in goods and commodities between the US and Canada surpassed $441.5 billion. This means that the trade relationship the two nations share is the largest in the entire world. 2001 data showed the relationship supporting 5.2 million US jobs, 289,000 in Florida alone.

Since 1946, Canada has been the leading destination for US exports. From cars to computers, and orange juice to aircraft parts, one fifth of all US exports go to Canada.

And it's just getting going. Since the 1989 Canada-US free trade agreement, commerce between the two nations has more than doubled, and continues to increase.

From an international business perspective, Canada is red hot.

World Trade Center Palm Beach, with the cooperation of the Canadian Consulate General's office in Miami and the Port of Palm Beach is offering a special daylong program exploring the remarkable synergy between the US and Canada. "What's Hot in Cool Canada" will deliver vital insight into the wealth of opportunities that exist within the relationship, and key information for business looking to develop business with Canada.
