Deep
Thinking on Florida's Deepwater Ports
Florida's
approach for organizing and funding seaports has become
a role model for the industry. In this special luncheon
session, the Port
of Palm Beach will present an overview of how Florida's
ports work together through a unique system of funding
(FSTED) and organization to keep all 14 deepwater ports
viable for the communities and regions they serve, thus
keeping Florida competitive in international trade.
Executives
from each participating port will present a brief overview
of their own port's operations, including types of trade
and how they are unique. President of the Florida
Ports Council, Mr. John LaCapra will discuss how
the Florida approach to seaports works to the extent
that it has developed into a role model.
The
keynote address will be given by World
Trade Center Association President Guy Tozzoli.
