The webisode "The Adventures of Zizwe," created by Robyn Stalson, will be screened at the 53rd General Assembly of the World Trade Center Association in Accra, Ghana on April 25, 2023. This series recently won an IndieFEST award for "Use of Film for Social Change".
The series follows a group of teenage girls from different cultural backgrounds who use their wisdom and mystical powers to address global challenges through music.
The production of the series was a collaborative effort between animators in Lagos and Johannesburg, voice overs from Windhoek, and overall production from the African Animation Network.
The screening of "The Adventures of Zizwe" at the WTCA global meeting will serve as a creative sector template for using cultural diversity as an economic strength.
The theme of the WTCA global meeting of executives and business is towards bringing together leaders across the world to discuss strategic policies for growth and trade. Seventeen African nations will physically convene in Accra Ghana along with 200 representatives from World Trade Centers across the globe.
The World Trade Center’s Association, headquartered in New York City, is the umbrella organization for over 330 World Trade Centers, in 90 + countries worldwide, and employing millions of people in hundreds of cities on every continent.
